Bill Romaniello, ATC, LAT

Director of Business Development and Head Athletic Trainer

Bill, a Connecticut native, graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. He began his career as a Certified Athletic Trainer in Birmingham, Alabama working with Orthopedic Surgeon’s Dr. James Andrews and Dr. William Clancy, as well as published physical therapists Kevin Wilk and Chris Arrigo. Throughout his lengthy career Bill has gained invaluable experience while working in a variety of settings, sports teams and athletic programs.

During his 25-year career, he has worked in a biomechanics lab, dynamic testing center, rehabilitation clinics and with several semi-professional, high school and elite sports teams. This experience has given Bill years of knowledge dealing with proper management, rehabilitation and prevention of sports related injuries.

Bill is a true educator. He enjoys teaching coaches, parents, and athletes about injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and emergency medicine. As an instructor for the American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services, and the Fire Service, he can teach to a wide variety of students and is an expert in the field of Sport Injuries, Concussion Management, Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention.

His desire to help athletes of all ages led him to co-found a sports performance center in Connecticut, The EDGE Performance Training. The primary goal is to ensure that athletes have access to prompt medical care, athletic trainers, orthopaedic physicians and rehabilitation services. Bill’s knowledge and experience, along with strong work ethic, desire to help others and clinical training makes him a valuable resource in the sports medicine community.

He will be using his many years of experience to focus on business growth and development for Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports and playing golf.
