Clinical Athletic Trainer

McKenzie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Paideia High School and played volleyball. After high school, she came to the University of Tampa to study sports medicine where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training.
During her time at UT she worked with a variety of sports and was also selected to study abroad and further her education at The National Taiwan Sport University treating their athletes participating in Martial Arts. She gained additional experience during an internship with Clearwater High School and working the East/West Shiners Bowl.
After graduating from UT she worked as an athletic training intern for the Women’s basketball program at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL as well as covering football, baseball, track, soccer and lacrosse events. Upon completion of her internship at IMG she worked as the athletic trainer for Countryside High School in Clearwater, FL. Her focus was to provide daily game coverage and emergency care while working will all teams on injury prevention programs.
While at Countryside she decided to advance her education and obtain her master’s degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the University of Tampa. As a graduate assistant at UT she was given the opportunity to work with their Women’s volleyball and Men’s Lacrosse teams.
She began working for Orthopedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay in the spring of 2018. She works primarily with Dr. Watson evaluating patients with a wide variety of orthopaedic issues along with treating patient in our physical therapy department.
She is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and State of Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing golf and swimming.
