About
Dr. Thao Nguyen is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow disorders and injuries. She is a Maryland native and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The George Washington University with a degree in Anthropology.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine followed by an orthopaedic research year at University of Maryland. She completed her orthopaedic residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and renowned R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. There, she was involved in both basic science and clinical research and has presented at various national and international orthopaedic meetings.
After residency, Dr. Nguyen completed subspecialized training in hand and upper extremity at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh. She treats both pediatric and adult patients. She specializes in hand/wrist/elbow fractures and arthritis, carpal and cubital tunnel, trigger finger, tendonitis, tendon and nerve lacerations, ganglion cysts, soft tissue injuries, Dupuytren’s contracture, biceps tendon repair, ligament reconstruction, etc.
Dr. Nguyen prides herself on quality care for her patients by developing long-term relationship through compassion and individualized care.
Dr. Nguyen is married and has one child. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, as well as cooking, exercising, and traveling.
