Post-Op Instructions

Post-Op Instructions

We speak to every patient post-operatively, however it is common for patients under the influence of anesthesia not to remember post-operative conversations. We make every attempt to speak to your family or friends that accompany you. Unfortunately, if your loved one is not in the waiting room, or immediately accessible, we are not able to speak with them.
To provide you with the most detailed post-operative information possible, your surgeon has created individual documents that will be provided to you on the day of surgery. These instructions further outline:

  • Weight bearing restrictions
  • Wound care
  • Physical therapy or home exercises to begin
  • Your next appointment

As always, if you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our office.

PO instructions need to be organized differently. Additionally, I have heard from many of the ATC’s who have provided me with individualized edits/documents to add.
