Lauren Carter is an all-around Jersey girl! She grew up in South Jersey near Philadelphia and graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor’s in biology. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for Physician Assistant studies, obtaining her master’s degree.
In January 2002, after the events of September 11th, Lauren enlisted in the United States Air Force, New Jersey Air National Guard. During this time, she served as an Aircraft Electronics and Environmental Systems Apprentice for 10 years prior to commissioning. During this time, she obtained an associate’s in aerospace science. Upon graduating PA school, she commissioned. She has deployed twice to the Middle East and provided medical support during key historical events including COVID-19 and throughout fall of Afghanistan in 2021.
She is a well decorated officer who has performed numerous medical missions throughout the Continental United States and Outside the Continental United States including the Middle East , Europe , Alaska, and the Philippines.
Her orthopedic career began in 2011 at Jacobi Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center based in the Bronx, New York. During this time while also performing her military duties concomitantly, she practiced Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, also based in the Bronx, New York. She then transitioned to the Hospital for Special Surgery based in Manhattan, New York where she has operated with several world-renowned surgeons! She has logged over a thousand operative cases on a yearly basis.
She is now coming to us seeking warm weather, sunshine, and wonderful beaches.
