About
Dr. Zachary Gapinski is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction and joint replacement. He is dedicated to helping patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy through personalized, evidence-based orthopedic care.
Dr. Gapinski earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from Indiana University, where he also minored in Chemistry and Exercise Science.
Dr. Gapinski completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, where he received comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of orthopedic conditions. He subsequently pursued advanced subspecialty training through an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute where he trained extensively on anterior total hip arthroplasty and revision total knee and hip arthroplasty.
A strong advocate for advancing the field of orthopedic surgery, Dr. Gapinski has been actively involved in clinical research throughout his training. His research interests include total hip and knee arthroplasty, revision joint replacement, surgical technology, and improving outcomes for patients undergoing joint replacement procedures. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national and regional orthopedic meetings. He is an active member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
In addition to his clinical and academic interests, Dr. Gapinski values fitness, athletics, and an active lifestyle. He understands the importance of helping patients return to meaningful activities and strives to provide compassionate, individualized care tailored to each patient’s goals.
Outside of work, Dr. Gapinski enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He loves to ski and compete in triathlons. He actively supports the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Hoosiers.
