Pre-Op Instructions
Pre-operative instructions are provided for your review before any procedure. These are general things to expect prior to your surgery such as clothing to wear for your surgery or when to stop eating or drinking. Please look over the selections below and find the one that fits your needs based on your procedure. All patients are encouraged to look over the “General Pre-Operative Surgical Instructions” and “Universal Surgical Risks”. These pertain to all procedures performed.
Post-Op Instructions
We speak to every patient post-operatively in the recovery room. Additionally, we make every attempt to speak to the family and friends that accompany you for your procedure. Unfortunately, sometimes we are not able to speak your family and friends; frequently, they are not in the waiting room. It is common for patients under the influence of anesthesia not to remember post-operative conversations.
Because of these potential problems, we have provided post-operative instructions for home care:
- weight bearing status
- when to remove dressings
- first post-operative follow up appointment, etc.
As always, if you have any further concerns or questions please feel free to contact our office.
