Reviews

Dr. Butler has replaced both shoulders in the last 6 months, one in June and one in October. In both cases, all the debilitating pain was immediately gone upon awakening after surgery and minimal to no pain (other than during PT) during the 6 weeks of recovery in a shoulder immobilizer. The first shoulder is now totally operational and the second is well on its way. Many thanks to a gifted and talented surgeon!

Hands down, Dr. Butler is the doctor you want to operate on your shoulder. I had right shoulder replacement and it's now the good shoulder. Better than the left shoulder.I can reach over my head with no pain. The recuperating time and level of pain during rehab was very tolerable. Dr. Butler does 5+ aftercare and is genuinely concerned with how you're doing. Highly recommended. Thanks to all the office and nurses who made this possible.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Bryan Butler and his staff especially Morgan L. Williams, PA. Dr. Butler did a total reverse replacement of my right shoulder on December 15, 2020 after months of suffering excruciating pain and loss of mobility. The surgery went perfectly, hardly any pain afterwards. Instructions were clear, follow ups thorough and the whole post op process has gone without a hitch. Wonderful professionals and wonderful human beings as well. Today was my last scheduled follow up appointment and I just want to say thank you again and God bless you.

Dr. Donaldson has been nothing but a dream come true I’m so happy with my results he did a total shoulder replacement. Everything is going so good therapy is coming along. I haven’t felt so good and so long. I thank the doctor and everyone involved with my surgery right down to the therapy people, thank you so much. If you need a doctor for a shoulder issue, Donaldson is your man.

I have had a great overall experience with the entire situation. I had my right shoulder replaced with a new operation called a reverse shoulder replacement. It has been a little more than a month, and I have started to fish again. Was not expecting to fish this soon after the operation. I just wanted to thank Dr Donaldson and all his staff and the PT Staff as well.

What is Shoulder Replacement Surgery?

At Orthopaedic Medical Group, we begin conservatively, offering a range of non-surgical treatment options. If these options are no longer working to alleviate your pain, we also offer a range of surgical treatments tailored to your specific shoulder pathology.

Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement

In patients who have a history of a rotator cuff injury, reverse total shoulder replacement surgery is performed. During this procedure, your natural anatomy is reversed, which changes the mechanics of your shoulder and allows for better overall function.

Anatomic Total Shoulder Replacement

An anatomic total shoulder replacement is a viable option for patients without a rotator cuff tear, as it involves replacing the arthritic humeral head, and glenoid, which make up the shoulder joint.

Shoulder Replacement After Fracture

In the case of a complex fracture which has caused significant joint damage, shoulder replacement may be recommended to restore stability, reduce pain, and improve shoulder function.

Preferred Surgical Facility

At Orthopaedic Medical Group Surgery Center, every aspect of your experience is thoughtfully designed around your comfort and peace of mind. Patients receive a concierge-style experience in a modern, surgeon-led facility designed for comfort, efficiency, and personalized care. From streamlined scheduling to attentive day-of-surgery support, every detail is focused on creating a smooth, high-quality experience.

Pre-Operative Testing

Once surgery is recommended, you’ll receive a packet with all required preoperative testing instructions and educational materials. Your surgical coordinator will contact you within 24–48 hours to schedule your surgery and guide you through any required testing. Most patients will need to undergo blood work, EKG, and clearances from your primary care or specialist office.

You’ll meet with your surgeon about two weeks before surgery to review results, and return to the office 2–4 weeks afterward for a postoperative visit and X-rays

Surgical Fees

Although your insurance might cover the majority of surgical costs, each plan varies based on your individual benefits. During the surgical planning process, you may encounter three types of fees: the physician fee, facility fee, and anesthesia fee. These will be explained to you over the phone prior to your surgical date, and payment will be required within 72 hours of the procedure.
